In August 2006, my mother, Myriam Fefer, was murdered inside our home in Lima, Peru. I was seventeen years old.
The case quickly became public, with intense media coverage, speculation, and competing stories. The man who carried out the murder was eventually caught and imprisoned. Yet the most important question has never been fully answered: who hired him, and why?
Over the years, I followed every development. I questioned official narratives. I fought for the killer’s extradition to Peru and managed to get it done on time before he could escape. I faced accusations in the media. Eventually, I stepped away to try to build a normal life.
But the unanswered questions never left me.
Why This Podcast Exists
This is not just another retelling of a known case.
This is my active return to it.
Nearly twenty years later, I am going back to Peru to re-examine the original evidence, the legal proceedings, and the details that were overlooked. I want to understand not only what happened that morning, but how and why the full truth has remained hidden for so long.
This bilingual podcast (English and Spanish) blends personal memory with careful investigation. Some episodes will be intimate. Others will examine timelines, contradictions, and the people connected to my mother’s life.
What You Can Expect
Each episode takes you deeper into the real story behind the headlines:
- The days and weeks leading up to the murder
- The relationships and pressures surrounding my mother
- The investigation, the courtroom battles, and the decisions that shaped the outcome
- The lingering gaps that still demand answers
This is both a personal journey and a serious attempt to find clarity in a case that has never been fully resolved.
A Personal Note

For a long time, I chose silence. Speaking publicly about my mother’s death was too painful.
This podcast is the first time I am allowing myself to go back — fully and honestly. Not because I have all the answers, but because I am finally ready to ask the hard questions that were never answered.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
